Documents you need translated for a Spain student visa
Planning to study in Spain? Most Filipino students are surprised by one thing: Spain usually asks for a sworn translation (traducción jurada) of Philippine documents, not just any translation. Here is what to prepare.
Documents students are commonly asked for
- PSA birth certificate
- NBI clearance (for longer stays)
- Medical certificate
- Diploma and transcript of records
- Proof of funds or bank documents
Your school's admission letter and your health insurance are usually already in Spanish or English.
Apostille first, then translate
Many Philippine documents need a DFA apostille before they are translated. Get the apostille first, then send us the apostilled document so the sworn translation covers the apostille too. This saves you from doing it twice.
Why a sworn translation?
A sworn translation is signed and stamped by a translator officially recognized for Spanish. It is what the Spain Embassy expects for official documents.
Requirements can change and may differ per applicant. Always check the latest checklist from the Spain Embassy or your school.
